Rosh Hashana, Feast of Tabernacles, Hannukah have passed and Christmas is a week away. Where has the time gone? On the homefront, we were involved with citywide prayer gatherings, prayer conference calls, eqipping the saints or serving in the community.

In May, I took a two week ministry trip serving in one of the Houses of Prayer in Jerusalem. It was my fifth trip to Israel.

House of Prayer

Everytime I visit a House of Prayer (HOP) (the kind that is open 24/7 or all day, with two hour worship or intecessory sets), I wonder if a HOP would or could be supported in Fresno. I love coming to PIHOP (Pasadena Int't House of Prayer) when I'm in the area. I come and sit, rest, worship, sometimes write (like I am now) or read. It is just a great atmosphere ...

Trailblazers, Pioneers, and Settlers

I once heard a teacher give a message on stages of church planting and growth. After hearing it, I began to understand my gifting a little more. I am a trailblazer and pioneer. I've come alongside other pioneers (church plants) and started educational programs, non profits and social enterpises.

First, there are the trailblazers. They are the ones who not only have the vision to go so...

About five years ago, we started an official Christian club at CSU Fresno called Club Hope. My daughter also started a club Hope at a local public high school. What did we do? We worshipped and prayed on campus in public (in the peace garden) for a few hours every Monday. We prayed for anyone who asked for it. We also coordinated and collaborated with a few other C...

Prayer walking Cities

When I first started the ministry, the Lord gave me instruction first to prayer walk Fresno. For some strange reason (H.S.) I had this burden for Fresno that I could not shake. I felt God wanted to do something special in the city where I was born and raised. The summer of 2007 I began the walk. I walked over a hundred miles in a year span. I would grab my map, outline a 3-5 mile square block,...

GO FOR IT! Part 1, Entertainment

Over the years,  I've heard a few wonderful speakers/pastors/preachers share about the 7 mountains, and how we need to start viewing our jobs/workplace as ministry, however,  I've heard very little practical application on what we can do to become Kingdom influencers in these areas.

And because I'm a very practical person AND a have worked in the marketplace (public education) most of my life, it is something on my heart...

I recently received a ministry letter referring to how GOD was taken out of government, church, schools, etc. I was wondering, Was God really taken out? Or did we, the church leave? This is one of my messages I often share...(I know some may take offense, but it isn't my heart to do that.)

I often hear from the pulpit or some prayer gathering, how evil the...

What is an Apostolic Reformation Community (A.R.C.)

6/16/11 (rev. 6/13) What is an Apostolic Reformation Community (our name change).

Apostolic:  This is NOT the apostolic reference to those who started churches decades ago and required members to dress a certain way. When we say apostolic we are referring to a community of  "ambassadors or sent ones' (what the word apostles means). We are also referring to a type of leadership with the  Eph. 4:11/12 being the model....

City Transformation

Transformation, the latest buzz word in the church culture, although it has been the buzz 'word' in education for at least 10 years. When someone recently told me their church was focused on citywide transformation, I wondered in what area they were focusing? I find so often many ministries say they are about citywide transformation, but are not specific to what they are called to in this process. I like to ask, What is it the Lord has called you and...

I recently heard a story about a man who built a school and did not put in sidewalks. When asked why he didn't, he said he wanted to see where the people would walk. As the pathways would form he would place the sidewalks. This story spoke to my heart. In this particular season of time, I’m reminded by the Lord to watch where people are walking and come alongside and help build pathways f...
